Admissions Criteria & Prospectus for Entry

Welcome you to St Joseph’s Primary School, located in the Parish of St Colmcille, in the heart of Ballyhackamore, Belfast.

In addition to the full range of Learning Areas, as outlined in the NI Primary Curriculum, the school offers a range of activities which contribute positively to a broad and balanced curriculum; these include swimming lessons, instrumental tuition, Spanish, class educational trips, links with neighbouring schools and the local community, and a vibrant variety of after-school clubs.

We are proud to say that St. Joseph’s is a very happy and friendly school, which adopts a positive approach to learning and discipline, encouraging and rewarding effort and good behaviour. Inclusivity is key and we passionately believe in and work towards fulfilling the challenge set out by our school motto.

‘We all matter, We all belong, We all do our best’

The school values it’s strong partnership with our parents, and we recognise that when pupils, staff and parents work together, great results can be achieved. There is a thriving Parent Teacher Association which, as well as having a crucial fundraising role, also has an important social role in helping to build the community that is St Joseph’s Primary School

Our recent fantastic news, that St Joseph's Primary School has been selected, as part of School Enhancement Programme (Second Call) for a refurbishment or extension project gives us confidence that the school will continue to go from strength to strength

However, don’t just take my word for it: please take the time to look around and experience for yourself the wide and varied life that St Joseph’s Primary School has to offer by visiting us on our Open Morning (27th November 2025). Alternatively, you can capture a flavour of the school by reading our Prospectus or watching the video below.

The EA Connect Admissions Portal has opened and will remian so until Wednesday 21st January at 12 noon. You can access the portal here.
